From Rome with love!

Rome is history, is tradition, is past-present and future. Walking down the streets you meet a mixture of awe-inspiring art and vibrant street life, Italy's Eternal City is so attracting and beautiful that makes her one of the world's most beautiful capitals.

Rome's artistic heritage is really astonishing. Losing yourself into the little streets you come across with pieces from the ancient world like a journal. Ancient statues adorn world-class museums, Byzantine mosaics and Renaissance frescoes dazzle in the city's art-rich churches, baroque facades flank medieval piazzas. Sculptures by Michelangelo, canvases by Caravaggio, Raphael frescoes and fountains by Bernini.  3000 years of ad hoc urban development is not a common phenomenon for a city.

Rome's cityscape is an exhilarating spectacle. Ancient icons such as the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Pantheon recall Rome's time as the fearsome hub of the Roman Empire, the caput mundi (capital of the world), while catacombs and clandestine churches hark back to the early days of Christianity. Lording it over the Vatican, St Peter's Basilica is the greatest of the city's monumental basilicas, a towering masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. Elsewhere, ornate piazzas and elaborate churches add a baroque flourish to the city's historic streets.

Italian cuisine is the key to my hurt. For a truly Roman meal search out the city's boisterous pizzerias and convivial neighbourhood trattorias. Romans love their delicious meals like crispy pizzas, humble but delicious pastas, and always combine them with cool white wine from the nearby Castelli Romani hills.

I am a walker, an explorer, a photographer. I can find things to do for both of my hobbies. Walking through the picturesque streets, passing in front of  St Peter's dome looming over the skyline I can understand the whole meaning of Dolce Vita. It's about relaxing into the city's Mediterranean rhythms that everything moves more slowly and the Italians have a very nice sense of humour, and of course an opinion for eveything!

I love this city.. The aroma that come from the cafes with the fresh ground coffee, the flowers, the vespas , the songs... oh the songs and the italian language. Buongiorno! BonaSera! Like a melody in your ears. And do not forget the class of the latins. The have really well the "know how"..
The know how to treat a lady, when to open the door for her and when the should send her flowers. But girls be careful! Latins speak a lot and you may get lost into their eyes and their sayings!

And as a quote say:  Dolce Far Niente!

Attraversiamo!
